The wire is such a wonderful material. It is extremely easy to use. Moreover, you can bend it however you want. It is very flexible so you can make literally any form. And there are tons of different techniques. You can make chains, dangles, charms, beads, clasps, embellishments. This list is endless. Just take some hand tools and a piece of wire – and you can make anything you want.
Copper is not only cheap but also beautiful. Its color is very unique – it is kind of orange-red. This color looks good with any stone. The steel wire may look boring, but this orange shade always attracts people. It is cheap and beautiful – that makes copper one of the best materials for jewelry making.
It’s not a secret that copper is the most popular metal being used for jewelry making. So, today I’m going to use copper wire.
I used two types of wire. The first one is 1 mm (18ga) – it is perfect for frames. The second one is 0.4 mm (26 ga) – it suits for weaving. It is thin, so the weaving will be very neat.
Or there is another way. You can use 0.8 mm (20 ga) wire and 0.3 mm (28 ga) wire. The first one is for frames and the second one is for weaving.

But you will also need several tools to work with wire. They are very simple and you can buy them in the hardware store. They are being sold as a set or individually.
My recommendation is to use silicone-tipped pliers. They are very convenient for wire weaving.

How to make wire wrapped bead pendant? Wire weaving is not that difficult as you may think.
The only thing you need is to learn making basic weaves. Don’t underestimate simple things. Your craft will get better every time. Just try it and you will realize how easy it is – most types of weaves are based on the same principles.
Later you will start realizing how important the tension is. You can’t make your frame too tight or too loose. Enough tightness helps the wireframe to keep its shape and keeps your weaving even. But don’t make it too tight. You should find the appropriate level of tightness.
When the weaving is done – don’t forget to trim it at the back. It also needs to be secured – just press it hard firmly against a frame wire. You can use nose pliers for this.
Try to avoid different kinks when you weave. You should fix them before it gets too late. But don’t worry – you just need to untwist it. But do it before you have pulled it too tight.
