925 silver pendant. Wire wrapped pendant. Handmade jewelry. Handmade 925 silver pendant with stone Charoite.
For the pendant, I used 925 sterling silver wire 0.8 mm (20 ga) wire for the frames and 0.3 mm (28 ga) wire for the weaving.
For hundreds of years, professional jewelers have used a wide variety of frames to hold gemstones on jewelry. But recently such an interesting technique as wire wrapping has become quite popular. Rather than using a bezel, the stones are fixed on a jewelry with a thin wire. One of the great things about this technique is that it is very easy to learn. It is also a very affordable option as it only requires a few inexpensive tools and materials.
For my jewelry I use only natural wire (copper, nickel silver, bronze, brass, silver). I patinate jewelry with wire with special solutions and polish with felt circles using polishing pastes. Sometimes, so that the wire does not darken over time, I coat the metal with a special varnish.
